Pistol Fundamentals: the “Fifty Cent Drill”. 2021-04-24

In this time of outrageously expensive ammo, range time needs to be of value rather than just an expensive way to make noise.

Here’s the next evolution of the “Penny Drill” and it uses 1 box of ammo (50 rounds) and 1 roll of pennies ($0.50).

Load one round in your magazine. Load and chamber.
Being extremely careful to keep your fingers and hand from being in front of the muzzle, balance a penny on your front sight, tail side down.
Present your firearm, align your sights with the Penny still balanced and press your trigger to get a shot.
You Penny should fly straight up into the air, and, if you don’t it perfectly, should land on (or hit) your slide on the way down.

Do at your own risk.
