Johnston Architecture – Designers of the Eagle Point Golf Club

The Eagle Point Golf Club is a story of a small band of golfers that so loved the sport that they planned something exceptional, something uniquely their own.

In 1999, the founders commissioned Wilmington, North Carolina’s two-generation Johnston Architecture, AIA to design the masterplan, a secluded entry, a bridge over wetlands, and a winding, roadway through groves of live oaks, all destined for an enclave of 15 timeless seacoast structures influenced by Down-East Carolina, arts & crafts & shingle styles.

The centerpiece, a stately, 22,000-square-foot clubhouse recalls historic & coastal landmarks, anchoring this waterside retreat.

Minting an iconic, architectural statement, Eagle Point’s style is detailed by buttressed eaves, exposed rafters, tapered columns, woven cedar shingles, & hip roofs clad in cedar shakes.

Nestled among the upland pines, the new fitness club is the 15th building to join Johnston Architecture’s Eagle Point Golf Club village.

Rooted to its remote 275-acre setting, the Intracoastal Waterway, and Tom Fazio’s championship golf course.

Eagle Point Golf Club, on par with other legendary golf clubs found along the Atlantic Seaboard,

ranked by Golf Digest in its Top 100, is the home of the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship.
