Holding the Ground- 3 Drills to Help Youth Hitters!

In this video Coach Cathcart discusses the importance of hitters staying in their legs, beginning from launch position to hip drive and through the completion of their swing.

Properly getting into and staying connected to the ground allows players to: stabilize the head, maximize ground reaction forces in their swings with proper sequence, and transfer of energy.
The drills highlighted in the video will help players of all ages and abilities. They will start to feel and understand how proper ground connection, balance and swing direction are related. Without the ability to hold or use the ground, adjustments mid-swing are impossible.
