Just an “el” train ride away from the city of Chicago lies the Donald Ross gem, Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, Illinois.
The 100-year old course is home to not only an amazing golf course but also one of the greatest clubhouses ever built. The Spanish-style clubhouse was designed by the same architect, Gregg Nimmons, that built the historic Olympia Fields clubhouse right down the street.
In 2008, Dr. Claude Gendreau, a veterinary surgeon, saved the course from what seemed like certain death, and since then he and the staff have resurrected and restored it to its proper state.
It’s a wonderful place, full of nostalgia, history, and tremendous golf.
