Does "Good Golf Begin with a Good Grip" or was Ben Hogan WRONG?

Although the legendary Ben Hogan famously said, “Good golf begins with a good grip” was he actually correct? I contend that he was not. The grip — the exact positioning of the hands on the club — is not a universal fundamental. Great players have won many tournaments and Majors using a “weak” grip a la Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, and Jordan Speith. Great players have won many tournaments and Majors using a “strong grip” like Dustin Johnson, Fred Couples and Paul Azinger.
