Walter Reid is one of the many groundskeepers behind the scenes at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course near Jacksonville, FL. At THE PLAYERS Championship this year, he was the man who cut every hole on the back nine — on Sunday, too.
He’s up to the task because he’s a student of the game and also one of its coaches. Before moving to Florida, Walter was working as a golf coach in California. But when the pressure built up and he didn’t feel like he loved the game as much as he should, Walter moved across the country to get closer to the land and the meaning of golf underneath it all. With a newfound skill for cutting cups, you could say he now loves the game of golf inside and out.
