Why you need a gap wedge for short & high chips around the greens

There are lots of occasions when you have to perform tricky little short and high chip shots around the greens. Using a sand wedge is, theoretically speaking, the right thing to do. The problem with that however, is that a chip shot with a sand wedge is difficult; one can easily hit the ground or the ball with the leading edge. There is a solution though: use a gap wedge! This club will get the ball high enough into the air and is easier to hit than a sand wedge.
