Titleist Tips | Five Words for a Better Short Game

In this video Titleist Staff Member Skip Guss, owner of GolfRite in Southborough, Massachusetts, explains that there’s much more to the short game than executing a given shot. In Skip’s approach, execution is just one step among five in a greater process that is guided by five key words:

Analyze
Plan
Commit
Execute
Review

Most amateurs jump right to the execution phase when they play a short wedge shot, but dedicating yourself to all five disciplines is the key to real improvement.

Watch as Skip demonstrates three stock short game shots – a chip, a pitch and a lob – and see how tossing golf balls will help you to visualize trajectory, the most important aspect of properly analyzing a short game shot.
