Titleist Tips: Why You Need Fresh Vokey Wedges and a Pro V1 Golf Ball for Your Short Game

Spin is the King when it comes to short shots around the green. As spin deteriorates on your finesse shots, so does your control over the golf ball. If you’re not arming yourself with the right equipment, that short pitch that could have left you with a tap-in can easily leave you more than six feet from the cup (and even the pros don’t convert better than 50% of the six-foot putts they face).

As Titleist staff member James Sieckmann shares in this video, simply using a premium golf ball like Titleist Pro V1, Pro V1x or AVX, along with relatively new Vokey wedges (grooves not significantly worn down) will make a huge difference in optimizing your performance when you execute a finesse shot properly. As James explains, practicing with that same equipment is also a huge key to ingraining your intuitive knowledge and your ability to judge situations and plan and visualize shots effectively on the golf course.

Take James’ advice and invest in the right tools to get the most out of your finesse shots. Your game deserves it.
