Attempting to hit upward on the ball with the driver is not a good idea, but actually hitting upward slightly is a good idea. The problem comes from trying to make it happen compared to knowing how to properly make it happen. We have to learn how to position the ball so that the club strikes the ball with an upward angle of attack although we feel like we’re hitting downward.
