Ernie Jones Golf Swing session two (Positives and negatives in description)

I went into this session practicing a pre shot routine and working the ball in both directions.

Pre-shot – Worked on picking a shape, rehearsing the swing and taking deep breathes to calm down.

***Where it went wrong… the routine felt good, but all of that calm went out of the door at address. I did not waggle and keep movement up until the shot leaving me feeling rigid and being very quick on the takeaway, which bled into a quick transition, poor strikes and poor balance.

*** Positives… Of course from the shot shaping perspective, with poor tempo, you cannot execute a golf swing with good plane and strike. I learned that having a poor waggle, feeling stressed and the change in environment may have affected my tempo, but the ball mostly still shaped in the proper direction, even being pull draws and sloppy fades off of the toe.

I will practice the routine more and make sure to find a way to feel athletic, while also feeling confident that I am set up correctly. Hopefully this will be the return of fluidity and the departure of my old habits.
