Josh over at SR4U (Soccer Reviews For You) is without question the biggest independent reviewer of football boots on YouTube. Longest time, most subscribers, most views, most in demand. Off the back of this platform Josh has successfully launched SR4U laces and more recently joined the recent grip sock craze and launched Pure Grip Socks, aimed at the budget section of the ever expanding grip sock market.
I have had these socks for quite some time, since they were first launched in actual fact, I have considered many times if I should make and upload a review to Boot Wizard. Why was I apprehensive, well, Josh’s size and popularity has given him somewhat of a cult like following in the football boot / soccer cleat community, and I have found to my cost on many occasions that disagreeing with Josh really does rub some people up the wrong way. I must point out I have never spoken to Josh personally and he has nothing to do with this, I must also congratulate him on his success and the fact he has such devoted fans that they do like to come out all guns blazing if you disagree with Josh in anyway. If Boot Wizard obtains half of his success I will be very happy. So of course directly reviewing Josh’s product in Pure Grip Socks was always going to be risky. However we have taken many risks here on Boot Wizard, we certainly don’t stick to the expected or the norm, we review boots that nobody else does, we reach for asia only releases, unheard of budget models and many other options as well as of course those big name boots from Nike and adidas. We haven’t been shy about reviewing anything else, or expressing an opinion before, so why start now. So here it is, my take on the SR4U pure grip sock.
We will look at the materials, the grip, the price, the fit and comfort, every aspect of the sock broken down and of course you get my opinion as well. Unfiltered and ready to go, here is what I really think of Josh’s SR4U Pure Grip Socks.
