We love it when we find a true hidden gem in Australian golf. And, it’s even more exciting when we find it in the heart of bustling South-Western Sydney. The championship layout at Cabramatta Golf Club is such a course.
Surrounded by main arterial traffic routes, Cabramatta has done an excellent job of creating a real oasis of tranquility, natural scenic beauty and a golf course of serious strategic merit within. Here, attention to detail is a reality and this course is a joy to play.
As a test of golf, diversity and often subtle variation make this course a worthy championship contender and with optional tees, a course that all levels of ability can enjoy. The siting of the greens at Cabramatta are a most noteworthy feature, often nestled into a corner of the course, or bordered by wetlands and transecting watercourses. A solid collection of long and short par 4’s, and truly excellent par 3 holes, combine with MAgreens that may be domed, or slope from front to back to create strategic diversity and pressure the golfer to think clearly about club selection and execution.
A great golf course, a great place….. where hospitality and customer first are the order of the day. Highly recommended!
