Rounded up a few of my buddies in Austin to play some golf at our old stomping grounds Lion Municipal Golf Course. We grew up playing on this course so it definitely brought back some good memories of our youth; it was a very nostalgic round. Blake (inventor of the Blake Wedge from my Christmas video), Bob, and Nic are 3 of my closest friends so we had a blast playing out there. Even if we didn’t play well at some points we were still having fun!
For this video, we played on the back nine and it was every man for himself! Skins golf! We get points for a few different accomplishments on the course:
1 point: low score on the hole (par or better)
1 point: birdie (straight up or with handicap)
1 point: greenie (closest to the pin on par 3s, must make par to get the point)
1 point: sandy (make par out of a bunker)
2 points: eagle but don’t hold your breath… there were no eagles out there that day!
If you make a birdie on a hole and are the lowest score then you walk away with 2 points! If two people make birdie then both walk away with 1 point but no one won the hole so they only get points for their birdies. If no one makes par or better on a hole then we all get zero points for that hole and are officially terrible golfers…
To help even the playing field, we gave Bob 3 shots total on the side (3 hardest holes 11, 14, and 16) and we gave Blake 2 shots per hole. This made it to where everyone had a shot at scoring some points.
