GOLF COURSE VLOG – PYLE & KENFIG GOLF CLUB – PART 6

We are on a South Wales tour and our first stop was at the stunning Ashburnham Golf Club which lead to a 4/3 win for the Hendriksen Brothers. In this vlog we head to the beautiful Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club which is a 40 minute drive from Ashburnham and both Lester & Wilbur want revenge.

Myself (Dan Hendriksen) and Brother Paul Hendriksen will be taking the fans favourite Lester Barnes and the big hitting Will Farley.

Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club was formed by the golfers of the Newton Nottage Golf Club, a club itself formed in 1919, the nine hole P & K course was opened Saturday 29th July 1922.

P & K has arguably the best back nine of any links golf course in the world and has hosted a number of fantastic events.

In 2017 Pyle & Kenfig Golf hosted the Ladies British Amateur Golf Tournament for the first time. This is one of the top Ladies amateur events in the world and the club was delighted to be chosen to host such a prolific tournament.

The Senior Open Championship was back in South Wales in 2017 for a second time and Pyle and Kenfig once again hosted the pre-qualifying for the event.

Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club co-hosted the British Amateur Championship in 2016 with their neighbours at Royal Porthcawl G.C. This was the third time the R&A had chosen Pyle and Kenfig to co-host this event, the last time being June 2002 where competitors played 36 holes over the first two days – one round at Pyle and Kenfig and the other at nearby Porthcawl – and the leading 64 qualified for the matchplay stages at Porthcawl, ending in the final on Saturday 8th June with Alejandro Larrazabal of Spain emerging as the victor. 1988 was the previous time the event was held at both courses and on that occasion a Swedish national Christian Hardin took the title.

During 2006 Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club hosted the Men’s Home Internationals featuring all the top amateurs from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England including Irelands Rory McIlroy (Holywood).
