Mizuno ES21 Wedge Possibly the MOST important thing NEVER explained and that would be the understanding of how strike plays a huge roll in the performance of a wedge. Most wedges have their effective middle or “Sweetspot” slightly on the heel. High Toe wedges such as the ES21 have their centre of gravity “sweetspot” closer to the geometric middle and in the case of the ES21 actually marked with a centered badge on the rear of the head. Knowing your own strike tendencies can have a massive effect on you consistency if you are using the wrong wedge for your game.
