This has to be one of my favorite moments to get on camera in 2020. This past November I was lucky enough to play some golf with one of my baseball idols, the one and only, Goose Gossage.
Not only is he one of the greatest competitors to ever take the mound, his mentality as a closer and the conversations we had really reminded me how much these two sports relate.
The lesson you must walk away from here is that if you ever get the chance to meet and talk with one of the greats who has been there before and has performed at the top of his or her game when it really matters, you should stop and get into their mindset. See what drives them and what their focus in the moment is. One little insight might be enough to take you from where you are to where you want to be.
