PP360 Disc Golf Putting Practice Solitaire Game – Jan 5, 2021

Here’s a full PP360 game, a part of my wintertime putting practice regimen.

PP360 is an app you can download that helps you keep score while you practice putting. You get ten putts each at 10′, 15′, 20′, 25′ and 30′. Then you repeat it again, two rounds for a total score, if you make every putt, of 360. I like how it gives higher point values to the first and last at each station, adding pressure to those certain putts, making it feel more like you’re in a tournament and you need to make them. You get bonuses for making all 10 at a given station. The farther back you are, the greater the bonus.

Since one of my goals is to be as good at straddle putts as I am a regular putting stance, I do the first five at each station with my regular stance and the second five with straddle putts.

I’ve always felt like straddle putts are more challenging because you can’t simply rock back and forth like you can with a foot in front and back. Thus, more of the effort comes from your arm, unless you’ve figured out how to squat with your knees and bring them up like Kevin Jones does. I’m not that athletic.

In an unusual twist of events, it’s the straddle putting that wound up saving my butt this time.

My final score today was 204, not my best, but I fought very hard at the end to salvage the game and keep my streak of scoring 200 and above for an 8th straight time.

My all-time high so far is 252.

The camera on adds nerves, so that’s helpful, and yep, I miss a couple of important 20-footers I otherwise probably wouldn’t.

My goal is to be near 100% on 20-footers. By missing one in each round, I lost out on 30 points in the game. I normally hit everything from 20 feet. So my score would’ve been 234, respectable for me, if nothing else changed.

It seems silly throwing all this putting practice footage up here on YouTube, but like I said, having the camera on adds pressure and keeps me accountable.
