The Payson Golf Course was designed by Frank Hughes and Russell Zakariasen and first opened in 1960. The course is under new ownership as of 2020 and the the new ownership has big plans including a new patio with a larger dining area and woodfired pizza being added to the menu. There are also plans in place to add a game room making the course more family friendly.
Payson Golf Clubs front nine is wide open and its back nine is more hilly. The greens are slow, and there is a creek that comes into play on seven holes. The Payson Golf Course sits at an elevation of 5,000 feet and has great mountain views and a cooler summer temperature than most other areas of Arizona. There are many pine trees that can alter your shots. The wildlife ranges from herds of elk to migrating geese and truly makes Payson Golf Course unique.
