This is the conundrum so many faces while addressing the ball. First, they are focused on where they don’t want to go and try to find a swing key that will prevent disaster. But if there is no focus on WHERE WE WANT TO SEND THE BALL, how can there be harmony in action? The priorities are first choosing where we want the ball to go and then making a flight plan. Then we choose an intermediate point to match up with this flight plan about 6 inches to a foot in front of the ball. Then we set up using this IP and make a prediction based on our action to the direction we want the golf ball to start on. Once the prediction is made, the pre-motor cortex fires up and is waiting for the feel you want to use for this action. The one I use? Throw the club in the direction I want the ball to start and wait to confirm that it has released me fully in this direction.
