Review and comparison of the new 2019 Gorilla Boy Simian bag
Update – I spoke with Chris(Owner of Gorilla Boy) and he answered some of the questions I had in this video.
Weight: the camo fabric used on this new bag is heavier than some of the other fabrics and that is why Chris’s weight measurement is different than mine.
Velcro: Chris had originally had the soft velcro on the back and the scratchy velcro on the padding but then the padding would sometimes roll and there was complaints of the scratchy velcro snagging on peoples shirts, so it was purposefully changed to the current arrangement.
Also the haul strap placement change as well as the loss of secured pockets was driven by a focus on streamlined assembly and build time.
