TIMEOUT 2020 Winter Edition | #1 Joe Torre – Ground Rules for Success

Joe Torre is one of the most prolific sports figures in modern history. An MVP as a player, 9x All-Star, 4x World Series winning manager with the Yankees, and now the Special Advisor to the Commissioner of Baseball, Joe has seen the game of baseball from literally every angle. In 2014, Joe was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and spent his entire induction speech highlighting his players, the Yankees organizations, and everyone who touched his journey as a professional in baseball.

Known as one of the greatest managers of all time, Joe Torre built relationships with everyone in his community, from the professionals in sport to the youth in his community. In 2002, Joe and his wife Ali founded the “Safe At Home Foundation”, and organization that aims to develop educational programs that will end of the cycle of domestic violence and save lives.

Joe is one of the most decorated figures in professional baseball – and this was translated off the field in many ways. Joe has written two books, has been the spokesperson for several Fortune 500 companies, and is a sought after inspirational keynote speaker. Joe’s story is incredible, and truly represents homegrown success and community drive. At 80 years of age, you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone in New York who doesn’t know Joe, and there isn’t a soul in the world of baseball who doesn’t either.
