If a player has their caddie stand on the line of play behind the ball whilst the player sets up to take their stance, but then both player and caddie move away before the player comes back and makes their stroke, do they still incur a penalty?

No, if the player has reset their stance after the caddie has moved away from the restricted location, they will avoid the penalty.
