FLC Quy Nhon Golf Links Details

Located in the prime location of Binh Dinh, overlooking both the Nhon Ly beach and Eo Gio, FLC Quy Nhon Golf Links is a piece of art waiting to be explored. It offers 36 championship holes divided into 2 magnificent golf courses: The Ocean Course and The Mountain Course.

FLC Quy Nhon Golf Links Ocean Course Design
Overview of the course
Designed by Nicklaus, the Ocean Course is one special link-style course as it provides Australia’s sandbelt experience more than any course in Asia. The fairway is continuous and has almost no rough. There are also pine straw and other local vegetation for decoration purposes to signify the coast-landscape design. At the site, there are all well-filtered sand and already available push-up greens. The front nine heads into the hills with narrow fairways glorified by the dense pine forest and lots of natural-looking bunkers. It is pretty challenging with sand traps, blind spots, and elevations everywhere. Meanwhile, the back nine is routed to an open landscape, overlooking the ocean. Although the back nine’s terrain seems less challenging, the main obstacle is the breezes from the ocean. Additionally, golfers can also see the luxury villas as they border the holes.

Interesting holes of FLC Quy Nhon Golf Links Ocean Course
Golfers playing at the Ocean Course will find some holes very challenging but playable. There is a 569-yard hole 17 par 5 with a sunken Biarritz green and ocean views. No matter what hole you play, the scenery will almost always make you stop to admire it after every swing. Said hole requires a precise tee shot to a divided fairway in order to skip the heather areas. However, golfers need to be careful of an out-of-sight bridge no matter how they play, choose a safe line or set up a birdie chance. Hole 4 Par 3 is also an interesting downhill one with a lengthy green running from left to right accompanied with a splash bunker right in front of the golfer’s view. In addition, hole 6 par 4 with a steep slope, followed by an obvious green accompanied by various bunkers.

Mountain Course
Overview of the course
In addition to the Ocean Course, FLC Quy Nhon Golf Links Mountain Course, designed by Schmidt- Curley, is grand and majestic. Here golfers will experience gigantic fairways, large green with up and down slopes, and massive sand dunes everywhere. The course is built on a sandy hillside with ocean view, wide corridors and a clear line of sight overlooking the native dunes. The fairways are wide, not too challenging but during some moments, the wastelands will surround the landing area so golfers need to pay close attention. The location is also exposed to strong wind, which is why the greens are large. However, it is not boring as each of the green is provided sections to create enjoyment when moving between the sections. In terms of the tee system, it is a little different than usual as there are various tees that can be altered according to the wind intensity.

Playing holes
The Mountain Course offers some entertaining holes to test all kinds of players. Here the notable feature is a hole 6 par 4 that has a small dune indicating the line of play and a plateau to the right. This hole requires a bold uphill tee shot to shorten the distance quickly. There is also a strong par 4, closing hole 18 with a beautiful landscape. Conquering this ending, every shot is risky as the target lies on the ledge above a large bunker. Most impressive is hole 15 par 4 with the green running from left to right of the fairway and close by to the rear and the right is sand. The hole itself is magnificent and beautiful to look at, but the spotlight of the stage is the “half-pipe” dip in front of the green.
