TYSON FURY ON DEONTAY WILDER OLEKSANDR USYK & ANTHONY JOSHUA PLUS HIS NEW BOOK 'THE FURIOUS METHOD'

NEW BOOK – THE FURIOUS METHOD – OUT ON NOVEMBER 12
“I’m really excited for my second book. I’m hoping it will help a lot of people out there. How to train and remain positive. It’s more background on my mental health battle.”

Wilder off

“Yeah, the original date was July 18th. That didn’t happen because he had an injury. Then it was October but that didn’t happen because they couldn’t get a venue that suited everybody. Then they had three dates in December – 5th, 12th and 19th – which I agreed to. That obviously didn’t happen. I’m not going to wait around forever. I’ve got my own life.”

“I agreed to every date they said. Every date that was mentioned, I agreed to. It’s not worth me looking at now. Deontay Wilder has tried to bring my character down with the bullshit he’s said. If I was like the rest of the world I’d probably sue him for defamation of character. But since I’m not, I’m not really interested in doing that type of thing. He’ll never get a shot at me. It’s finished forever, for what he said. Losing is one thing. Any man can lose to another. But to come out with the amount of BS he has. He’s conveniently waited until the contract expired to open his mouth. It’s ridiculous and I don’t really want to give him any air time. That’s it for me.”

“I think he’s lost his marbles. First of all it was the suit, then it was the bicep injury, then his trainer was on our team, then the referee was against him, then I had weights in my gloves and now someone has spiked his water. It’s one of those things.”

“It definitely is defamation of character. It is what it is. I’m quite concerned for his mental well being, rather than his boxing career. That’s gone.”

“Some people can’t take loss. Imagine being undefeated for 12 years as a professional and you were told you could beat this guy and he’s come back after three years out of the ring, ballooning up in weight, and given you a boxing lesson? And then absolutely annihilated you in the rematch. So, would I be the same? But you lost to a better man. I’m not like that. And AJ got beat by Ruiz and he didn’t make a million excuses. He just said ‘fantastic, well done’. Suppose it’s different sportsmanship in different places. It’s up to him what he wants to do.”

Usyk

“Styles makes fight. Derek Chisora will give anybody a hard nights work and he’s shown that again and again. No one can humiliated Derek Chisora. He’s fit and determined. But styles makes fights and obviously the style wasn’t what he was looking for on the night. He’s learn from that. Did we see the best Oleksandr Usyk? I’m not sure. I don’t know. On that performance I can say that none of the top fifteen heavyweights out there are sweating about Oleksandr Usyk at the moment, unfortunately. None of us are quaking. Everyone is like ‘okay, is that what all the hype was about?’ It is what it is. This is the heavyweight game. Heavyweights aren’t what they used to be and Chisora is probably the smallest heavyweight out there. Being brutally honest, when he fights a big heavyweight who can punch a bit, I think he’ll be like a lamb to slaughter.”

“My opinion of it, it’s the heavyweight division and not the cruiserweight division for a reason. But I understand every cruiserweight who does well wants to step up to heavyweight to get that big money. They all want a piece of the pie. There’s divisions for reasons. After his last performance, I obviously thought he was better than he was. I highly rated Oleksandr Usyk as a technician at cruiserweight. But at heavyweight there was nothing to impress me, to be fair. It was an average, mediocre performance.”

Retiring

“I don’t have loads of fights that are wars and I don’t take tons of punches. It is what it is. When I’ve had enough, I’ll just walk away. I’ll know when I’ve had enough because I won’t be able to do the things I was doing in my glory days.”

Dec 5th prediction

“Well whoever that opponent is, I just do my thing. I go out there, perform to the best of my ability, win the fight and go home. It’s going to be difficult without the crowds. I’m the type of the fight who thrives on the atmosphere and electricity, so that’ll be difficult for me. But it’s about collecting our wages and doing what we’ve got to do.”

“I never get rattled or get up. I’m just relaxed. In sparring, there’s nobody there and I still spar. It’s going to be like that I suppose. I was in an empty arena recently. I watched Daniel Dubois fight, it is what it is, we adapt.”

Joyce Dubois

“I see it as a real pick ‘em fight. It’s whoever you fancy. It’s one of the best match ups you’re going to get to see. Two viable opponents for me in the future. May the best man win. The fans are the real winners here because they get to see two undefeated heavyweights throw down. Fantastic fight to be made. Well done to whoever made it.”
