Swing Essentials Golf Lesson: A Good Tall, Tilted, Turn for Torque and Power

Need help getting a bit more consistency out of your golf swing. Let our PGA Professional show you how it’s done.

This golf drill will help you attain a more repeatable, powerful, and structured golf swing. First, ensure that we have a bit of a tilt in our golf swing. This allows us to ensure the bottom of the swing, or our impact position, does not change if we sway off the golf ball. Do the buttons of your shirt point towards your lead knee? If so you have a great start.

Secondly, place both hands just above the knee caps. Notice your lead hand is a bit higher because of the tilt. Second, as you turn notice your head does not move left to right. If so, your hands would move off of your thighs.

Third, as you turn your shoulders your left hand slides down towards your knee cap and your trail hand moves up towards your trail pocket. You also feel a bit taller in your golf posture. Welcome to this new sensation as this is what good players feel in their take-away.

Now take it to the course and have fun!
