How to Play Fore! Cards

Fore! Cards is a game you can integrate into your next round of golf. Grab your friends, make a tee time, and bring Fore! Cards. Take turns randomly selecting cards before each hole to determine how the hole will be played and let the fun ensue! Keep track of each player’s points each hole and the player with the most points at the end wins! Whether you’re looking to spice up your next round of golf or trying to find that perfect gift to buy your significant other, Fore! Cards is the game Fore! you.

HOW TO PLAY
1. Grab Some Friends
Fore! Cards is designed to be played as a foursome as many of the Fore-Mat cards are played as 2 vs 2. However, there is a way to modify the game to play with 3 players or multiple groups (see below).

2. Determine the Picking Order
Since ONE player will select cards on each hole, you will need to determine the order in which cards will be picked before starting the round. You can do this on the first tee by flipping a tee.

3. Pick a Fore-Mat and Fore-Keeps Card
Before each hole, one player will select both a green Fore-Mat and a blue Fore-Keeps card. The Fore-Keeps card is kept by the player and can be used throughout the round. The player who selects the cards on each hole will rotate based on the picking order.

4. Play the Hole According to the Fore-Mat Card
While the Fore-Keeps card is kept and used later by the card picker, the Fore-Mat card will determine how the current hole will be played for all players. It also determines the number of points that can be earned on the hole based on the number in the top right and left corners. Some Fore-Mat cards require choosing a partner while others are played individually. Read the cards carefully!

5. Keep Score and Have Fun
At the end of each hole, points are awarded to the winning player or players. If the hole is played as teams, both players from the winning team will earn points. At the end of the round, tally up the points for each player and the players with the most points wins!

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:
-Since 2 players will get to pick the cards once more than the others, ALL players can choose a Fore-Keeps card on the last 2 holes.
-For holes played with teammates, the teams are only valid for the current hole. New teammates are picked when the next team Fore-Mat card is chosen.
-Even though you may have a partner some holes, everyone is competing in the overall game as individuals.
-Fore-Keeps card cannot be given to a partner to use. Also, they are considered an extension of the previous shot.

GAME VARIATIONS
We encourage modifying the game however you like! Feel free to create your own rules or interpret the rules of the cards how you wish. Below are some common variations.

-Play with only the Fore-Mat cards! You can leave the blue Fore-Keeps cards in the box and only play with the green Fore-Mat cards. Some players may be ‘golf purists’ and don’t think kicking or throwing the ball should be allowed. Super lame but, hey, we totally understand!
-To play as a threesome, you will need to make a few modifications:
• 2v2 Fore-Mat cards will become 2v1 with the card picker having the option to play with a partner. The person playing solo will earn double points if they win the hole (except with Unscramble).
• Some Fore-Mat cards will need to be modified further:
– Hi/Lo – played as 2v1 with only the low ball being compared.
– Shamble – played as 2v1 with the lowest score of the 2-man team being compared to the score of the solo player.
– Alternate Shot – played as 2v1 with the 2-man team playing alternate shot against the other player playing their own ball.
-To play with multiple groups, Fore! Cards can be played as follows:
• Make sure you have at least one Fore! Cards deck per 4 players.
• Pre-determine 2-man or 4-man teams.
• Assign (pre-determined or randomly) a Fore-Mat card to each hole before the round. Some Fore-Mat cards will need to be modified or removed:
– Wolf & Threeway should be removed
– For Hi/Lo, Shamble, Four Ball, One Club, and Pick 3 the lowest score will be used as the team score.
• Evenly distribute 2 Mulligan, 1 Foot Wedge, and 1 Throw Fore-Keeps card to each player.
• Randomly distribute 2 of either Tee-Up, Fore-Tune Teller, Cut The Putt, and Movin’ On Up Fore-Keeps cards to each player.

*Note that Drive Swap, No Putter, and Distraction will not be used in this format.

Teams will play each hole according to the Fore-Mat card that is assigned and keep score like normal golf. At the end of the round, the team with the lowest score wins.
