At Tour Edge, we have long used mechanical swing robots as part of our R&D process. This year, we raised the bar even higher with the installation of a state-of-the-art custom-made swing robot we have affectionately named T.E.D. (stands for Tour Edge Development).
Only a few of these specially made robots exist in the entire world and the capabilities far exceed those of a standard “Iron Byron” type machine.
T.E.D. has changed the way we collect data on a daily basis to compare what we are seeing on T.E.D.’s TrackMan and FlightScope monitors VS. player testing. The biggest thing T.E.D. does versus other swing robots is the ability to create just about any launch condition.
