Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery and Iain MacMillan have their favorite bets lined up for a packed Wednesday episode of Guys & Bets.
Joe is looking at both MLB playoff games today and the UFC card this weekend, while Ninja is looking at the English Premier League and Serie A as domestic leagues return from the International break and Iain has a play for this weekend’s PGA event.
Joe starts the show off with a moneyline bet in the NLCS as the Atlanta Braves hold a 2-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Between the Braves’ pitching and the bats of Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna, the Dodgers have a steep hill to climb. With questions still surrounding Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers will trot out lefty Julio Urias against Kyle Wright for the Braves in this all important Game 3 matchup.

Moving to the American League, the Tampa Bay Rays hold a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Houston Astros. The Rays will look to bury the Astros as Tyler Glasnow takes the mound against Zack Greinke. Randy Arozarena has been a breakout star for the Rays hitting .462 with four home runs in the postseason. Meanwhile, the Astros can’t get out of their own way with costly errors and the inability to move runners along or cash them in. Joe is looking at the moneyline in this one as well.

After an excellent card last weekend, the UFC is hoping for a follow up as this weekend’s main event features Brian “T-City” Ortega squaring off with the “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in a featherweight bout. Joe is betting on this fight as the winner should find themselves a fight away from a shot at Alexander Volkanovski’s belt. Jung comes into the fight after winning his last two matches, while Ortega is looking avenge his last fight which was a loss at the hands of Max Holloway.

The Premier League returns this weekend after their international break and that’s where Ninja is going for his first bet. Manchester United have started the season in awful form, falling 6-1 to Tottenham and 3-1 to Crystal Palace in their opening three games, but maybe the break was what they needed. There’s a lot of work to do with that Man United backline and Ninja is looking at the total in this one.

The big news from the soccer world yesterday was that Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for the Corona virus. He’s now isolating and will be out of the lineup for Juventus as they take on Crotone. It remains to be seen what kind of impact losing Ronaldo will have on Juventus, but Crotone seems to be the game Juventus would want to play without their star player.

The PGA Tour stop this week is the CJ Cup. This tournament is usually played overseas but with the global pandemic, it’s shifted to Shadow Creek golf course in Vegas. Iain is looking at a head-to-head match for the tournament between Tyrrell Hatton and Brooks Koepka. Hatton is fresh off a win at the BMW PGA Championship on the European Tour and ironically, with the win, he knocked Koepka out of the Top-10 in the World Golf Rankings and slid into the 10th spot himself.
