Course Management: Hole 5 – Par 5 in 2 – Risk vs Reward when trying to score Birdie or Better

In this continuing series on how to play your way around any golf course, I am looking at Hole #5 at Belmont Country Club.

This video addresses the Par 5 strategy to go to a Par 5 in 2 stokes and to see if we can score birdie or better. I am looking at Risk vs. Rewards and how to play shots when the ball is below and above our feet, as well as on side hill lies and shots near drainage covers and how to properly take relief.

There are a few keys you must know in order to be able to hit these shots with consistency and confidence. Beginner or Advanced golfers alike can benefit from these tips and help you score better with less bogies and more birdies.

These are some of my top tips to play from a side hill and various lies on the Golf Course, both in the fairway and in the rough. Let’s try to score birdie or better in our next Par 5s, Par4s and Par3s and lets get there in 2!
