Novak Djokovic disqualified from 2020 US Open for hitting ball at line judge.
The Rule Book says:
“In circumstances that are flagrant and particularly injurious to the success of a tournament, or are singularly egregious, a single violation of this section shall also constitute the major offense of ‘Aggravated Behavior’ and shall be subject to the additional penalties hereinafter set forth”
Djokovic pleaded his case for many minutes, but to no avail.
Djokovic was undefeated in 2020 to this point.
Rules are clear, but holy wow.
