The player is wondering whether they are permitted free relief for an embedded ball. When are you NOT permitted to take free relief for an embedded ball?

A.
When your ball is:
Embedded in a bunker or penalty area;
Embedded in sand in the rough;
In another ball’s pitch mark;
Unable to be played with a reasonable shot;
In the ground due to someone stepping on it;
Only in the ground from a stroke that was never airborne;
Embedded after being dropped when taking relief;
Embedded in the putting green. There is no free relief under Rule 16.3, but you are permitted to mark your ball, lift it, repair the pitch mark and replace the ball;
Not embedded below the surface of the ground (only covered by thick grass);
When you have no relief area in the general area.
