Start Lines in Putting | The Golf Paradigm

Start lines in putting are very important if you want to make more putts. As little as 1 degree offline could make the difference in making a putt or missing it. In this short video I give you a very simple exercise on how to ensure your putts get started online.

Steps:
1. Start with a putt of approximately 6′-10′
2. Measure one grip length from the front of the ball towards the target.
3. Use a credit card, drivers license or similar and place it at the butt end of the grip. Make sure it is equal on both sides of the target line.
4. Using golf tees, place one at the front left corner of the card and another at the right corner of the card to create a gate.
5. Address the ball and make your putting stroke with the goal of the ball going through the gates without touching either of the tees.
6. Practice, practice, practice until you can miss both tees AND make the putt.

What is The Golf Paradigm (Pair-a-dime)?
The Golf Paradigm is a theory that encompasses a Whole-In-One approach to improvement. It begins with the overall paradigm; i.e. the game of golf. Followed by two parts that are always to remain in balance; i.e. the golf yin/yang – ‘improving’ and ‘enjoyment’. Helping to maintain that balance are the 5 elements of the game; the swing, club fitting, health/fitness, mental, and integration. Knowing which area to focus on and how the other areas supplement that helps to form the golfers ‘recipe’ for improvement. As the golfer improves their recipe, or what is focused on, changes and this is what allows them to reach levels of play they never thought possible. It’s not magical, but it’s close.
