I’ve really enjoyed my time working with the Callaway technicians, learning about equipment, learning what can and can’t be done to clubs, coming up with new ideas. I’m out there tweaking with the wrench, and a few weights, trying to get my driver dialed in.
I grind on my wedges quite a bit, so you can see on my L wedge that I pulled quite a bit off the toe, quite a bit off the heel, even though I have a lot of bounce on the face. But when I take that weight off, I’ve gotta offset it or else the swing weight changes. ‘Cause it’s already designed to be right. When I take weight off, I’ve gotta add it and get it back on.
My putter is short. My putter is 33 inches. In fact, it doesn’t even hit the bottom of the bag, well I guess it does a little bit. So when it’s so short, it’s very hard to get a lot of head weight. And because I have such a small head here, I’m not able to add weight to the design. It’s just not one of those big-headed putters. So there’s not much more area to add weight. And so I just put it on with lead tape.
Which I like, ’cause I centralize it and it helps me with alignment. It helps me center the ball right in the middle of the tape every time when I address it.
