You hit your ball towards the putting green, and unfortunately it lands short of the green, dribbles back and comes to rest. This causes a pitch mark right on your line of play, are you permitted to repair it?

A.
No, repairing such a ball mark would be improving your line of play, and is not permitted under Rule 8.1.
For pitch marks on the putting green, you are entitled to repair such damage at anytime.
Rule 13.1c(2).
