Q.
Is the nearest point of relief where you are able to swing freely and have the ability to hit a good shot OR is it the point that is the nearest point that gives you full interference relief only from the immovable obstruction that you are taking relief from?

A.
The Nearest Point of Relief is the nearest point where you have no interference from the condition, and it is not closer to the hole. This may be in a terrible lie, or mean you have interference from a different condition, therefore you may choose not to take free relief (unless it is a No Play Zone).
