I caught up with Stephen Gangluff from the PGA Tour Canada shortly after his recent win. Stephen captured the inaugural 2013 event on the PGA Tour Canada schedule claiming the Times Colonist Open in Victoria, BC.
Stephen is no stranger to Canada having won the 2006 PGA Tour Canada order of merit while more recently, in 2012, he played his second full season on the PGA Tour. He’s had a solid professional golf career with lots of highs and lows. Stephen believes whole heartedly that his strong mental performance directly correlates with his success.
In my interview with Stephen, he speaks about his experience on the PGA Tour and the mindset that prevented his success in 2012. You will hear first hand how one subtle change in thinking has turned around his results and propelled him to his Times Colonist Open Win.
In my interview with Stephen we also discuss:
The single biggest mental change from 2012 to 2013 that has put Stephen Gangluff in the winner’s circle
Dr. Bob Rotella and what he taught Stephen
Stephen’s opinion on self-belief and it’s contribution to success.
Where his attention is over the ball.
Staying in the present — where he didn’t at the Times Colonist Open and what happened as well as how to deal with staying in the present when you slip ahead or back.
In the end Stephen says – you can’t do it if you don’t think it.
You really need to listen to this one to hear the firmness, certainty and knowing in his tone. He is decisive when describing his best performance. When you create that tunnel vision focused mentality, it lifts confidence and allows you to be more care free to free wheel it.
Enjoy the winning wisdom of Stephen Gangluff…
