Today I’m playing where the Pro’s play! The annual stop for the PGA TOUR in the California desert (The American Express) is here at the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta, CA. This course is an absolute beast, playing to 7,300 yards from the tips! Also according to Golf Digest, the course currently ranks as the 8th most difficult course in the country!
Pete Dye was asked to build a “West Coast TPC Sawgrass” and this was the result. Also interesting to note that famed architect Tom Doak first learned the trade from Pete Dye, and this course was the first big project he worked on!
