TaylorMade SLDR vs JetSpeed 19* hybrid rescue comparison 20 swing FlightScope Test and Data

Here is a mini test using FlightScope Launch Monitor comparing TaylorMade’s SLDR and the JetSpeed 3 hybrid/rescue 19*. (these are the regular models and not the TP) Today we take a look at 2 of TaylorMade’s new hybrids for the 2014 season. As usual I hit 10 balls with each club and show you the FlightScope results from the session. The shafts were not exactly the same as I used the stock shafts that are available in each. The SLDR shaft is the Speeder 82H which is 82 grams and the JetSpeed shaft is the Velox T 75 gram. The swing weights were measured and the SLDR was a D5 and the JetSpeed was a D4. After hitting a few with each there is a pretty noticeable difference in sound and feel. The SLDR does have a bit of a higher pitched sound in comparison to the lower muted sound of the JetSpeed. Remember, this is comparing them side by side and it is a personal opinion. My dispersion with the JetSpeed was wider then the SLDR by a good amount with most of my missed with the JetSpeed as a hook. My opinion is the shaft in the JetSpeed was just too soft for me (you can def feel the difference as well) as well as the overall swing weight too light. I really hit the SLDR well with very little left to right dispersion. The data shows that the SLDR carried a handful of yards further, the ball speed was faster (even though club head speed was lower), the launch was a bit higher with the SLDR as well. Both heads sit and look fairly square at address. Overall I was impressed with both of them and will test the JetSpeed with a stronger shaft to try to confirm my thoughts but based on the testing and results I would choose the SLDR for me. I hope this helps in some way but as always find a qualified fitter in your area to test for yourself and see what fits you the best.
