Technical Editor In Chief, Robin Weaver, got to ride the bike ahead of the launch and had plenty to say about it. Voiced by our very own Senior Technical Editor, Tom Marvin, this video includes all the things you need to know about the new model plus all important first ride impressions.
The new Santa Cruz 5010 is longer and slacker than the previous generation but, perhaps surprisingly for 2020, it hasn’t given up 27.5 inch wheels.
Santa Cruz have methodically been working their way through their line-up, giving nearly all of their full-suspension bikes a complete makeover. After two years since it’s last spruce up, it’s now time for the 5010 to have a refresh.
While it’s still built around the smaller, 650b wheels, or, as Santa Cruz put it, “the fun-sized wheel size”, the geometry and frame layout are totally different to the 5010 launched back in 2018.
What do you think the new Santa Cruz 5010? Is it time we all rode 29ers? Or do you still ride a 650b? Let us know what you think in the comments.
